Family first in Napier!
My husband and I were both born and raised in Auckland, we have two wonderful boys aged 10 and 13, and of course our beautiful dog Ruby. Since our friends moved to the Bay over 14 years ago, we have spent a vast majority of our holidays here.
We have contemplated moving several times over the last few years, then after a holiday at the beginning of 2016 we decided enough! We had packed up and moved by the end of June 2016 ready to start our new life in the Bay.
Along with the move came time to reflect, to really take time to rest and realise things weren’t 100%. We all went to see an amazing local Naturopath, our lives were almost immediately changed for ever (for the better). I was diagnosed a Coeliac and both my husband and youngest son were found to be intolerant of dairy, more so for my son.
We started our specialty store because after I was diagnosed as a Coeliac I felt like my world was crumbling around me, just another hurdle was being thrown at me to struggle over.
I wanted to find products that not only I could eat but also foods my son felt like he was missing out on. Decent as much as possible NZ made organic foods.
Since the change life feels so much better, sure I have to spend a little more time checking if I can eat something. The alternative is not worth it any more. I’m happier healthier and have a lot more energy. No more sore bloated tummies, struggling through afternoons till bedtime or nights spent on the toilet
